Baitullah Hameedi is a multimedia journalist. He currently works as a Radio Journalist with Pashto service of External Service Division (ESD), All India Radio (AIR). Apart from this, he regularly contributes to BBC Pashto and BBC Persian. He has also written for local newspapers in Kabul. He was the camera person for 'Just a little sunshine', a short documentary film, which was selected for the We Care Film Festival held in New Delhi. He also has more than five years of experience in marketing. Hameedi is proficient in English, Pashto, Persian and Urdu, and is a skilled translator. He has lived in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India and his familiarity with various cultures and societies makes him an ideal candidate to work as a journalist in South and Central Asia.
Ishtiaq Wani is a storyteller who is interested in multimedia and narrative journalism. He closely follows current developments in domestic politics, environmental issues, human rights and international relations. As a multimedia journalist, he intends to creatively blend text, photography, video and data to make an impact. He has knowledge of basic coding. Ishtiaq is interested in using evolving technologies in journalism to tell innovative stories. He has published stories in Hindustan Times and his poems have appeared in different online magazines including Kindle Magazine. He has made two short documentaries; one on female orphans in Kashmir and another on Tibetan refugees in Dehradun. His film on Tibetan refugees titled In Refuge of Memories won an award at Parampara Film Festival.He is a die-hard cricket fan and an avid reader.
Maariyah’s interest lies in narrative storytelling for both print and online media. She has a passion for pursuing in depth stories relating to conflict and human rights. Her copywriting and proofreading skills are excellent. She has a sound understanding of digital journalism tools. Maariyah is a very good researcher and she is capable of working with data journalism techniques. She has interned with The Asian Age, Kolkata. She has also written for various news organisations such as The Quint, TwoCircles.net, Foreign Policy News, Youth Ki Awaaz, DailyO, The Times of India and Kashmir Monitor. She has handled digital media strategies for a project on Child Abuse for EduMedia, Bangalore. She has also interned with Newsgram, an online news portal based in Chicago.
